from
the Chair of IFFR New Zealand
Welcome to the web site for the New Zealand
Section of the International Fellowship of Flying Rotarians.
I extend a very warm
welcome to all Rotarians, particularly those interested in aviation. I
invite you join us and participate in our flying activities during the
coming year. We encourage those of you who are not yet members to join IFFR.
Please view our programme for a schedule of the forthcoming events.
IFFR New Zealand is a small and active
section of a worldwide organisation that networks amongst its members. We
host visitors from the world over and consequently through this
international organisation we have made many friends. In particular we have
very close relationships with our fellow aviation enthusiasts from across
the Tasman and we meet frequently to share our interests.
Many of our members travel the globe meeting up with other IFFR members for
adventures and fellowship in all four corners of the compass. We delight
in being able to introduce international visitors to our beautiful
country, and I would offer an especially warm welcome to those of you who
may be planning to visit New Zealand in the future.
To introduce myself: an aviator from the age of 19yrs when I gained my PPL.
Over the years opportunity has enabled me to advance my aviation interest
into a career. I now operate a Flight Training School based at Feilding
aerodrome in the Manawatu.
For me one of the pleasures I enjoy in aviation as an flight instructor is
seeing people succeed in all areas from the 16yr old who goes solo on his
birthday to the student who works his way through the career system to
eventually become a airline captain.
It has now been some years since I was introduced to IFFR and one of its
virtues is the fellowship and friendships it has provided to Sheryl and
myself.
Please enjoy surfing through our web pages, and should you wish to find out
more about IFFR activities in New Zealand then please contact our Secretary
or myself and we will be happy to assist.
