Martinborough, located in the Wairarapa region, is a unique wine village with
over 25 boutique vineyards, most within walking distance of the charming town
square.
The South Wairarapa District Council is situated at the southern most corner of
the North Island and has an area of approximately 248,455 hectares (2484 square
kilometres).
In the south, the district boundary follows the coastline from the western end
of Palliser Bay in Cook Strait to Honeycomb Rock, east of Martinborough. The
western boundary follows the main divide of the Rimutaka and Tararua Ranges to
Mount Hector, from which the boundary runs southeast across the Wairarapa Plains
to the coast.
The District includes the towns of Featherston, Greytown and Martinborough which
are the main population centres.

Fly into Alistair and Pauline McLeod's Martinborough Airport (NZMT)
“NOTE : No fuel on airfield, closest fuel at Masterton (NZMS) BP & Mobil
16nm north.
Park aircraft as per diagram above - look out for aircraft marshal.
A Mini Bus will be available to transport members to our accommodation at
Brackenridge Resort,

27th
0900 Coach pickup at Brackenridge for a tour including “Stonehenge Aotearoa

Carterton onto Featherston to the Heritage and Fell Locomotive Museum

Evening Dinner, with guest speaker, at Brackenridge where we will be joined by
members of the Rotary Club of Greytown (The Club for the Martinborough area)

Sunday 28th
0900 IFFR Meeting at Brackenridge
1000 Coach pick up for morning tea at Alpaca Farm followed by a trip to the Wild
North Coast of Cook Strait, through “Ngawi” to look at the Seal Colony and for
the energetic, a climb to the Cape Palliser Light House then back along the
Coast Road to the Lake Ferry Hotel, for lunch. World famous for Fish & Chips and
the legendary Whitebait fritters

1800 - A farewell Country Dinner and fellowship at Alistair and Pauline McLeod's
home (NZMT). Transport by mini Bus.

Monday 29th
After breakfast the mini bus will take us back to the airport for departure
home. Maybe more fellowship at various lunch stops on the way. (Remember –
nearest fuel is at Masterton (NZMS).
The mini bus will be available all weekend to take members back to the airfield
if early departures are required.

ACCOMMODATION DETAILS :
Accommodation has been arranged at
Brackenridge
You are to book independently. The accommodation consists of Studio at $190 per
night incl GST - Two bedroom cottages at $160 per couple per night - Four
bedroom cottages at $137.50 per couple per night
Slightly more expensive if you don’t fill the Cottages, so team up with friends
and book accordingly.
Breakfast is supplied in each Cottage. Fresh coffee, farm eggs, juice, bread,
spreads, cereals, milk and preserves.

As you can see it is going to be a very enjoyable full weekend and hopefully as
many as possible will stay until the Monday or at least, most of Sunday.
